During a recent community event in Columbus, Ohio, Kayla Davis, Executive Director of A Step in the Right Direction witnessed, firsthand, the profound difference generosity can make in the lives of those in need. As she made sure community members received the supplies they needed, a young mother, carrying a bundle of CWS Blankets approached Kayla and embraced her in a heartfelt hug.
“Thank you for these blankets. My family just moved into a new apartment yesterday, and I didn’t have any blankets for my children’s beds.” The mother shared.
In that hug, Kayla felt the mother’s struggle and the profound impact of the blankets. She whispered a quiet “thank you” to God for using her in a meaningful way to bless others.
“For many people living on the edge of poverty, they often have to choose between buying food for their family and basic hygiene items. The donations from Church World Service are an essential part of keeping our community healthy!” Kayla shared.
